From the 1841 and 1851 census I have found John Parker b c1800 of Kingston Surrey (Oil labourer/ Oil puncher) and wife Sarah c1806 of either Wandsworth Surrey or Bethnal Green, Middlesex - living in Flood Street Deptford. (The 1861 census shows Sarah as a widow, living in Addey Street Deptford).
From census and baptism records I think they had 11 children between 1828 and 1852.
I tried searching the GRO birth records for those children born after 1837 (Amos, Richard, Susanna, James, Charles and Jane) to find Sarah's maiden name so that I could investigate her further - but no luck!!
Any help gratefully received.

There's this one

Parker, Charles
mother Leopard

There is a marriage in 1828 in Fulham indexed
John Parker + Sarah Leopard

Thanks both of you.
I think I would need to find the birth record of at least one of the other children to confirm that Srah's surname is Leopard.
Still searching . . . . . . . .

Sorry Jonw65, just realised both replies are from you. Thanks again

Thanks Rosie99.
That baptism definitely shows father as George, so maybe a relative of John?
Do you have any idea why I cannot find the birth regs on GRO - I had thought their records were mostly complete but not being able to trace any of the post 1837 children is a mystery.
Amos baptised 1838 St Nicholas Deptford
Richard baptised 1841 St Paul Deptford (B 1840)
Susanna baptised 1841 St Paul Deptford
James baptised 1845 St Paul Deptford
Charles baptised 1850 St Paul Deptford
Jane baptised 182St Paul Deptford
Have you come across missing GRO records before?
Thanks again

It was not the responsibility of the parents to register a birth until the 1870’s
-
I think that the address of Flood st on that baptism is too much of a coincidence, maybe George should have been John. Can you find Elizabeth Sarah on census or did she die before 1851
-
She is not on the 1851 census, so I'll check for a death record.
Thanks rosie99.
