Title: Family Tree records books
Post by: Bearnan on Thursday 30 November 17 10:57 GMT (UK)
I wonder if someone can recommend a family tree record book that can be handwritten by me and will allow me to go back to about 10 generations,I want to be able to include my grandchildren.

My mother and father's paternal family names will die out eventually as my father and uncle are in their 90's and had no sons. For this reason I think it would be nice to have a handwritten record to pass down .

Thank you.

I recently purchased one from the National Archives - 10 generation - Paternal entries start one end of book, turn it over and maternal entries go from there.  Also included a chart.  I have yet to start filling it in

Thanks for that Rosie99. I've seen that one online myself and think it looks ok, I'll probably get one.

I just got the one to see what it was like, I will be ordering more so nephews/nieces can have one each.

I got that one recently - it was on Amazon.

I've made a few mistakes when filling it in but am really using it as something tangible to - hopefully - inform my nieces' and nephews' generation should they ever become interested in their ancestry. (I wasn't at their age!)

I also found that, whilst filling it in (and I haven't finished yet) it led me down quite a few paths of additional research that popped up as I was putting in the details, esoecially those branches that I may not have looked at for a while.

Another option from the Huddersfield & District FHS, though it looks like only 5 generations:

I also bought a 10 gen. book from Amazon which sounds like the one that Rosie bought.

As yet I haven't started it but I will probably use a pencil - it does look very good though.
