Hi Rod...as the photo is very small there isn't much to go on...if you could post a larger version of the whole photo including the back it might give clues.

Rod, if you have the actual photo (i.e., not just a digital version), what the dating experts need is images of the whole card (showing the edges) front and back, with the front in particular being scanned at a high resolution (say 300 dpi) so that fine detail can be seen. When dating photos of men (because their clothing didn’t change as much or as often as women’s) it is the fine detail of both the clothing and the card stock that can give extra clues. (Don’t ask me, I’m a mere mortal. ;D )

Unfortunately all I have is a digital copy of what is said to be my great grand father William CHIFFEY who died 1898.
