Title: Ghyll Church Look-up please
Post by: Pendlewitch67 on Sunday 03 December 17 14:49 GMT (UK)
Good afternoon

My gt x 3 grandfather died at his daughter's house at 5 Unity Street, Kelbrook. He usually resided in Burnley but doesn't seem to be in any family grave back in Burnley. He isn't with his Earby family in Wheatlands either. Could he possibly be in the public cemetery at Ghyll Lane? All of the familyseem to be buried in public cemeteries rather than churchyards.

Robert Brotherton
Born 1846 - 17 Nov 1920

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Kind regards
Amanda

He actually died on 24.12.1919 and left a will and £2,994.  Probate granted to his widow Elizabeth.

Thank you but I have his death certificate. You must have found another Robert.😁

Re: the 1919 death - Address on probate was Colne

I know the family. I believe I am connected to this Robert also but not my direct line. A couple of previous generations.

😁

I have spent the entire weekend on the wills and probate page. It is brilliant. Thank you so much for posting the link.
