Hi everyone,
I am looking into my family history and have just ordered a copy of the birth certificate for my great grandfather, Charles Langdale Lewis Vasey, born 1860 in Stepney.
It seems like such an unusual name - are there any Vaseys out there who recognise him? He lists his job as 'gentleman' on my grandmother's marriage certificate. Not much help.
I would love to hear from any Vaseys connected with my family....thanks.

There is reference to a Charles L L Vasey in the Essex Standard 14 March 1885 under the heading
Essex Challenge Cup.
It would appear that Charles played for Leyton FC but was selected to play for Woodford Bridge in the above cup.
So Charles at some stage played football :)
