Ronald Elsender (m) Dorothy Calvert 1949 4th qtr 1b 311
William Elsender (m) Eleanor Calvert 1949 4th qtr 1b 280
ive tried to find a common mmn to link the Calvert's but have failed
I have no birth dates for the Calvert names.
The three Elsender's are brothers can anyone confirm if the Calvert's are sisters or related please

Just found a Mary T Calvert born in Whitehaven 1917 mmn Calvert
and a Eleanor Calvert born in Whitehaven 1916 mmn Mumberson
so could be looking like Whitehaven but no Dorothy
-
Is Whitehaven important? I have found an Eleanor and a Mary, born 1921 Newcastle, mother Kerr, twins? Again no Dorothy yet.
-
Dorothy born 1925, Newcastle, mother Braithwaite.

Whitehaven is not important just trying to find a link
However, William (b) 1912 and David (b) 1914 so either they got themselves some pretty young wife's or its not the right girls.
The Elsender boys do however come from Newcastle upon Tyne
I know nothing on the Calvert girls just found the marriage index for the three Elsender boys so I suppose the Calvert Girls father may have remarried from Kerr to Braithwaite
Ronald Elsender (b) 1923 so would fit Dorothy Birth date
-
Dorothy born 1925, Newcastle, mother Braithwaite.
A quick and simple search on Google reveals Dorothy's obituary, and indicates she was indeed born c.1925.

How does that fit in Jen ? Sorry got my thick head on today

Ronald and William's mother's maiden Nane is COOK
David however is shown as COCK
I assume these are all brothers and it is a mistake, all registered Newcastle
Have you looked at 1939

I would assume its a mistake yes Maud
They are all unmarried on 1939 register
-
Ahhh right 1939 Register has Dorothy living with father William Calvert (b) 1899 and mother down as Eleanor Calvert (b) 1897.
Rest of the entries are closed
If Top Of The Hill post is correct and that is the parents DOB then that would make sense and they did marry younger woman

There are 2 marriages Elsender to Cook
William to Annie 1911 Newcastle
Thomas to Emma 1923 Newcastle
I assume these 3 lads were born to William and Annie going by their dates of birth , but I could be wrong

Yes to William and Annie
-
William Calvert marriage to Eleanor Kerr 1919 so that fits
No marriage to a Braithwaite though
-
So its looking like Mary and Eleanor sisters mmn Kerr but Dorothy some other side of the Calvert family me thinks.

According to deaths Dorothy Elsender was born 26/07/1924 and died 2012 Newcastle, I wonder if this is the right one
Bo nearer to finding out the connection
1974 in Newcastle electoral register
David and Mary
Ronald and Dorothy are still alive in Newcastle upon Tyne

Her obituary (found via Google) indicates she was the widow of Ronald. Looking at the births of her children, her maiden name was Calvert.

Using the free search to the 1939 shows Dorothy Calvert/Elsender was indeed born in July 1924.
The Dorothy who was born Newcastle, mother's maiden name Braithwaite was born 1925 (or at least that's when her birth was registered).
Again using the free search to the 1939 reveals that in the same household with Dorothy was a sister born 1929, called Edith.
Looking at her birth, Edith's mother's maiden name was Kerr

Yay so can we safely say all three Calvert girls are sisters ?
-
I can't find a birth for Dorothy in 1924 :-\
But she is in the same household as William Calvert and Eleanor Kerr/Calvert in 1939 (free search) and there is someone else in the household whose mother's maiden name was Kerr.
Also the free search shows up a Margaret Calvert born 1919. There is no Margaret Calvert born in that year, but there is a Margaret C. Kerr, mother's maiden name Kerr born in Newcastle upon Tyne in the 2nd quarter of 1919.

Yes the Elsender's were quite proficient in reproducing. My Wife's Dad had at least 9 borther's that I have found so far.
