Folks,
I have wasted some hours chasing records for a woman who only existed because of poor transcription.
Robert Hughes b 1829 in Holme,Huntingdonshire marries Alice Chamberlain in 1852,she dies in 1865.By 1871 Robert's wife is Jane,Ancestry offers "England and Wales Marriages 1538-1940",to Jane Jarvis,in 1870 in Great Gidding,his father is Joseph or Thomas,her father is Edward Bradley.
Simple enough,find marriage of Jane Bradley and ? Jarvis then confirm death of her husband and all boxes are ticked.No marriage was found.I was about to post on Huntingdonshire board for help when Freereg came to mind though i wasn't confident owing to the time frame but went ahead with the search.

I have been at this caper for long enough to know that one source is good,two is great and more than that is brilliant.
Armed with the correct information all boxes are now ticked.
