I am researching Edmund Margrie, who was a photographer in Exmouth, Devon.
He was born March 3 1876. Died March 1902 , aged 25. I have found his own family but I am
having a problem finding his MARRIAGE.
He married in 1901. I believe to Ellen Veal, or Martha Ellen Veal. But this is proving very difficult to trace. The date of the marriage is registered, but only in his name. No mention of his wife's details.
Edmund became ill early in 1902 and died very suddenly in 1902. Buried at Littleham 27.3.1902.
I cannot find any information on his wife, either her surname before she was married, or after his death. As they were married for such a very short time, I am wondering if she reverted to her maiden name of Veal, or as is likely, that she married again.
I would greatly appreciate any information about her.

Sorry I forgot to mention that I found the Probate entry at Ancestry but you could get a copy of his will here, under the "Wills and Probate 1858 – 1996" index,
https://probatesearch.service.gov.uk/#wills
This looks like Ellen in 1938,
UK, City and County Directories 1938
10 Parkhill rd Birkenhead
Mrs Ellen M MARGRIE
I think this is their daughter Ethel's marriage, as Ethel has the name MARGRIE crossed out and replaced with DAVIES in 1939.
Ethel E MARGRIE Sep Q 1942 Birkenhead 8a 1507
James DAVIES
The family seem to have moved to Wembley by 1942 as I can find them in London, England, Electoral Registers.
1948 and 1949 (Margaret ROBBINS isn't there in 1949)

1950 She is also at her brother and sister -in-law's house.
Transcribed as 62 Sherwood Road, Harrow but on the image it is 62 Roxeth Green Ave,

Then I can't see her anymore.
I think the death found by nanny jan is right as Wembley was in Willesden Registration District.

Hi there.
We've just come across this forum discussion on Google. Edmund George was my grandfather. As covered below, he married Ellen Margaret Veals in 1901 at the Wesleyan Chapel in Exmouth. Sadly Edmund got pneumonia and died on 26th March (having a weakened heart already from previously having rheumatic fever), just 11 days before my mother, his daughter, Ethel Emma Margie was born on 6th April.
We've been doing a lot of research on the family tree recently. We'd be interested to know if NorfG is a family member too - maybe a grandson of William, Emma or Thomas Margie. Please do get in touch.
