This seems perhaps the most suitable pigeon hole although paper and not stone is involved.
An In Memoriam announcement in a newspaper concludes with
" Fideli ceria merces".
Two translations I have found seem entirely unlikely. Are these latin words incorrect perhaps?

I think the middle word should be ‘certa’.
Then the phrase would translate as ‘to the faithful there is a sure/certain reward’.
