Title: tracing insurance documents
Post by: gwilliams3 on Wednesday 20 December 17 22:38 GMT (UK)
My mother has concluded her father is not the man on her birth certificate. The reason for this is due to, primarily, her finding an insurance document when she was about 15, that was in her name but being paid by another man. This was around 1956, she was born in 1941. Does any one know if I can find  / search old insurance documents. I don't know the insurance company or any other details than my mum's name and the name of her possible father.

Reads more like an assurance / investment policy.

Is there any reason to assume that she was the result of an infidelity, rather than the policy being provided by a godparent or similar?

Was a claim/ payout made?

My mum found the policy, when her mum was in hospital and she had to get some other paperwork ( I think National insurance or something ) Her mum told her not to raise the issue again, and the man's name is not one that has come up in any family history
