Post by: Lambendsor (aka IGS) on Friday 22 December 17 20:21 GMT (UK)
Can anyone find more details on this wedding in particular or this couple in general?
----
Name:   John Lamb
Birth Date:   1803
Age:   63
Spouse's Name:   Mary Lawson
Spouse's Birth Date:   1804
Spouse's Age:   62
Event Date:   15 Oct 1866
Event Place:   Warrington, Lancashire, England
Father's Name:   Thomas Lamb
Spouse's Father's Name:   Thomas Lawson
Marital Status:   Widowed
Spouse's Marital Status:   Single
----

John LAMB might have died before the 1871 Census:

Deaths Mar 1870: Lamb John, 67: Manchester/8d/192

I haven't been able to pinpoint John LAMB's first marriage. I'm especially hoping to find his and his father's professions.

Many thanks!

www.cheshirebmd.org.uk shows the marriage was at St Elphins Warrington.  The registers are at Warrington.

Everything you would find on the marriage cert is already shown above with the exception of their respective occs.  Why not contact the RO and see if they could give you that info by either email or phone.

Are you sure you have the right death as I would have expected it to be in Warrington?

Are you descended from one of the Lamb children?  If so - have you traced that child on earlier censuses?

I was under the impression that the St Elphin's scans were on Ancestry. I found an image of a 1833 St Elphin's marriage record I *think* there, unless I'm mis-remembering...

Anyway, I'm hoping to link John LAMB with my ggg-grandmother Ann (LAMB) SMITH (born c1806, married 1825), whose parents are still a mystery to me. According to the 1861 census she was born in Salford. John LAMB was living with Ann's family in 1841 - said to be 35 and a fustian cutter. His presumed age when he married in 1866 looked promising, though I guess it's a long shot.

Now I'm pretty sure I'm on the wrong trail, after all: a John LAMB of similar age lived in Warrington, son of Thomas LAMB, file cutter.

John Lamb was a Flatman
Thomas Lamb was just deceased!
