The Able Seaman was, according to CWGC, based on HMS President III.
This was a "stone frigate", or shore-based establishment.
In WW2, it was located in Bristol, Windsor and London.
See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_President_(shore_establishment)

Service records for any personnel serving after 1920 will still be with the MOD?
There is a charge of £30 to obtain the records.

He is buried at Edinburgh (Seafield) Cemetery; grave reference P.Coll grave 803.
I would hazard a guess that he might therefore be Scottish?

Hi Craig,

Yes, it was an accident - very sad.

I wonder if it would be worth putting you in touch with a lady at CWGC (Commonwealth Graves Commission) regarding Ernest Beswick - I think they would be very interested in talking to you if they still have no record of relatives of Ernest recorded.   Would you be interested ?

Please ignore reference to ERNEST BESWICK in BRITISH  NAVY 1943...I found on his military records a signature requesting medals in Australia 1945...and also Government files in the name of ERNEST BESWICK that may shed some light that are still closed may have to request opening viewing ...sorry for any inconvenience ..thanks CRAIG
