Title: James McLelland - Shoemaker/Bootmaker - Journeyman 1880-1890
Post by: Keckers on Monday 01 January 18 13:40 GMT (UK)
I am looking for a death of James McLelland. James was born in Ireland in c1853, married Margaret Cathcart Holmes on 06/12/1880 at the Middle Free Manse in Coatbridge. They had three children, , Margaret McLelland b.1880 in Coatbridge, Elizabeth McLelland b.1882 in Coatbridge, John Samuel McLelland b.1885 in Blantyre. On 16/05/1890 Margaret Cathcart McLelland then marries a John McIntosh, she is recorded as a widow of James McLelland - Shoemaker, Journeyman.

I can find no death of a James McLelland between 1884 and 1890 in Scotland, any help would be appreciated.

This is the only one I can find but given the re-marriage was May 1890 it's unlikely to be the right one

James McLelland aged 36   1890   644/8 679   Milton

The only other possibility I could see, with a mistranscription on the surname, was this one:

James MCLINDEN, aged 36, died in Coatbridge or Old Monklandin 1888

Monica  :)
