That is kind Dave, thank you.

I am still trying to find out about the parents and siblings of my great grandmother, as per this thread:
http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=752582.msg6013041#msg6013041

It seems that civil birth archives survive for Nakel am Netze from 1874, and that Jewish records survive from 1823 - 1832 & 1835 - 1889, so it may well be possible to find the details, but not much is on line, and I don't speak Polish, which is why I was hoping for a response from an enthusiast located near the archive of Bydgoszcz.

This is a find from the Poznan-Projekt link i gave you.

You can get the original record from the Archive in Bydgoszczy

Archive info

Our database only provides basic information to identify the spouses. There is no liability for the accuracy, as it depends on the quality of the record and the skills of the transcriber. The full information about the marriage can only be found in the original records.
The original record for this marriage is held in the National Archive in Bydgoszcz, Poland. You can write for its photocopy or digital copy to the address provided below. Further genealogical research is also offered there.

Blimey Dave, that is incredible!!

Consider yourself covered in kisses!  :-* :-*

This was in the Civil or Jewish archive?

Can you find me any siblings for Laura?

Sorry Dave - got a bit excited there - please read "is there any possibility of discovering Laura's siblings?"

I have sent an email asking if I can purchase a copy of the original marriage document.

Many thanks again! :-*

IŽll see if I can find any info on LauraŽs siblings

The joys of armchair genealogy.

The archives in Poland are making huge numbers of records available online.

This link https://www.genealogiawarchiwach.pl/ (https://www.genealogiawarchiwach.pl/) will allow you to view and download the marriage certificates of sisters(!!) Laura and Doris Placzek. Both were daughters of Jacob Placzek and Henriette born Wunsch.

Search for the town Naklo and choose 'Acta Malzenstw' for marriages. Doris's marriage was number 18 in 1883, Laura's was number 30 in 1899.

Civil registration of births started in October 1874.

Thanks to Dave and Justin.

I have no idea what I am doing wrong, but I am getting nowhere.

I click on the link kindly provided, up comes a page, but it won't accept anything I enter for searching, and does not let me see what you can see......

If you can visit an LDS Family History Centre, you will be able to browse through the pre-1874 Jewish registers from Nakel yourself.

Jacob Placzek was 71 when he witnessed Laura's marriage, so he was born in about 1828. You might even find his birth in the Jewish records which run from 1823.
