I am looking for assistance with my 3rd great grandparents I do know that the had their children in Mitchelstown RC parish William (1823), Edward (1827) and John (1829). From US census date John was born @ 1787 and Mary @1883. They emigrated to Canada and then the US before settling in Upstate New York by 1850. I do not know anymore about their lives in Ireland. Any assistance would be appreciated. Ayr, Ontario, Canada

you have probably checked https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0081

Thank you Hallmark and BallyDW... I had tried the registers.nli before and I just did again... It is a difficult read even when you can see what is written. And I may not be the most patient of researchers... I do have enormous respect for all those transcribers. The Archives... I too see the names but have no real way to link them to any of my relatives. Thanks for your generosity to respond. John

Marriages usually happened in the brides parish, if Mitchelstown has already been checked for a marriage and it wasn't found have you tried the surrounding parishes? You can find them on the map to the Mitchelstown parish hallmark posted.

Sinann... Thanks, I haven't checked neighbouring parishes... On their tombstone in Chateaugay NY says, "Natives of Mitchelstown. Co. Cork Ireland. May their souls rest in peace. Amen." I will look broader now. John

Thanks for your link... I am not sure how I can link my Montgomery's who left Mothestown in the 1830's to these two in 2004. I did not know about historic graves, so I will use it for other branches. John

Thanks Hallmark... I had seen this since your first post... and this Sullivan is a possible as I do not know about Mary Sullivan's family. I will keep this on file.
