The will of Christiane Wyllie, 1661, has a list of 37 debts awand in. I'm stuck on some of the names.
First image: In the first be [ ] in [ ]
[ ] Smith in kirkmuir
Second image: [ ] gilmor [servitor?] to the laird
be [ ] wyllie in Kilmarnock
third image: who is that in between John Caskie and Robert Dickie?

Archbald spei? (Not sure of the last letter.)

Regarding Archbald's surname, does it continue with the extra letters beginning th which come before the xij?
The others don't have a similar word before their amounts.

Thank you! I'll do some digging into old Stewarton parish records and see if I can come across a surname that looks like a match for Archibald. I agree that the "th.." might be part of the surname since it doesn't appear before the amounts in any of the other debts listed. I'll also look for the name Arthur appearing in the Wyllie family.
I would never have gotten those names in a million years, so thanks again.

Speir is a name seen in the Kilmarnock area circa late 1600's so it looks like that is Archibald's surname. Perhaps the "th" word is "there", referring to Robertland which is the location of the previous listed person in the document.
Arthur doesn't appear to have been a commonly used name in the Stewarton and Kilmarnock area, but I can't come up with any other name that would fit.

As all the other people in the list have a designation after their name (in such and such a place or their occupation) the word/abbreviation after Archbald Speir must also be a designation. As it is not a place-name, you'd expect it to be something like Yr for "there".
