Title: St. Joseph's Manchester
Post by: aw1sh on Saturday 13 January 18 11:36 GMT (UK)
A big ask I know but if anyone who lives nearby to the above could you see if there are any gravestones for the following graves.
I am trying to help a lady from the US

Joseph Flanagan 05.09.1906 - Grave number -  Section C 776 (public inscription grave)
Mary Flanagan 17.06.1893 - grave number -  Section J 1163 (public inscription grave)
Joseph Flanagan 18.10.1950 - grave number - St Teresa 3550 (public inscription grave)
Bridget Flanagan 22.11.1947 - grave number - St Teresa 3360 (public inscription grave)

Any help appreciated

I live just down the road from this Moston Cemetery.

Will try and nip in, in the next couple of days.

That would be great

I would like to take some photos if there are but didn't want to travel if there were none so to speak

Hi aw1sh

Due to the weather yesterday and today I was not able to get to the cemetery, this is one of them places to avoid when it is wet.
I have not forgot, but I will be away for a few days (work) so will jump on the case if no one else gets to do the hunt beforehand.

Work is the bane of our lives.

The inverted commas are a worry though       lol

Thank you

Hi aw1sh

Yahoo.................Job done  ;D

Bit of a mud bath but found all four for you, the system will not let me post photos here, so I have placed them on the Sendspace.com website for you to download.

I have 24 various renamed photos, hope you like them.

Again sorry it took so long.

Thanks for that, however I am not a member of Sendspace so I joined and did the necessary but each time I try to d/load it says I must be logged in, which I am. I then try to log in again with the same result.
Is there another way?  I don't mind giving an email address if that helps

Regards

It is so frustrating as you have gone to so much trouble

Very strange never had that issue before.

I have moved them to Dropbox try this link, each photo is 4/5 meg in size.
Email servers usually don't like things bigger than 10meg, but if needed I will send one at a time :)
Do not put your email address in this thread the Mods will shout, it is to stop spam and all that stuff, use the private message to send it if needed.

Got them, thank you so much
I realised it was the size that was the problem
As you say it is swampy, some of the graves must be in a terrible condition

I forgot re email address, glad you reminded me.

If there is anything I can do to help your research let me know. I do have some Fergusons living and born there in 1870 - 1890 or so.

Once again thank you

The main problem is around the older public graves, it looks nice with lush grass but it is waterlogged most of the time. I put my hiking/walking boots on so as not to get soaking wet.

Glad you got them, put a new thread if you need anyone else looking up.

Lucks on your side, I usually delete the files after they have been received by a fellow Rootschatter, but this time I had not removed from the Recycle Bin for some reason.

That's really kind of you BF, a genuine RAOGK!! Well, we aren't random here but you get the meaning. Never seen a cemetery so swampy.

Cheers for that, I was worried you had deleted.
I wrote to dropbox but it could take a while before I heard

As I say much appreciated and if at any time I can reciprocate just let me know

Because it is the free service I use on dropbox with reduced storage, they will be deleted at the end of today, so I hope you get them asap.
