Title: Hughes of Ayrshire, Maybole.

Hi, I'm researching an Arthur Hughes who shows on 1861 census with wife Allice, dgt Mary and grandson isaac. There is an Arthur dying 1861 and I assume it's the same gent.  Daughter name is Stevenson, I'm actually looking for marriage for Arthur and Allice and having no joy. As this couple were born in Ireland they could have married there.  Any help on where to look next would be appreciated.  Thanks Elaine

The 1861 death for Arthur Hughes on Scotlands People shows an age of 45 years -

Arthur Hughes - 45 years - 1861 - 644/1 1133 - Glasgow Central

There is one in Maybole in 1862

Arthur Hughes - 1862 - 605/ 21 - Maybole

Thanks, yeah, it will be the second Arthur, he was much older than 45.

Hi, many thanks once again, have found a marriage to ? Hay, in Ireland , I wonder if he wasn't actually married to Allice has I'm having no luck with a marriage, I've tried Scotland too. Anyway, dog walking , then back to it. Will look nationwide later.
