I am looking for the baptism of George Dunford about 1813 Great Bedwyn parents George Dunford and Ann Hoare. Also John Dunford 1810 Great Bedwyn same parents. Also any burials of John, George or Ann Dunford or marriages of same. I have been hunting for 18 years and it would be so good to make a bit of progress. Any help would be muchi appreciated.

Is he the one in 1891 census with a daughter Ann aged 53 now married to Thomas Smith.
Ann is born I. Oxford 1838 mmn Claridge.
George married Ann Claridge in St Thomas Oxford in 1835.
If so will work back from here.

Hi Tazzie, yes that is the one. He married Ann Claridge in Oxford. From there on is clear. It is his baptism I need and confirmation that he had an older brother John. As you know records from Wiltshire are only now dribbling into circulation. It would be good to have confirmation that he was baptised at Great Bedwyn and when. I believe there was a note on his baptism to say he was born at Wilton which is a nearby hamlet. If you can find a recording of the baptism then I can try to get a copy of the church register. Taken from Great Bedwyn parish baptism register;
7-3-1813 George s/o George & Ann Durnford abode, Wilton, labr, Wm.Skey, vicar
This register only starts in 1813 and I looked but didn't find any more entries for years ranging upto & incl.1818
In the previous register I have found;
John s/o George & Ann Durnford bapt. 29-4-1810
As a bonus, there is this marriage in Gt.Bedwyn;
George Durnford otp, sm, & Ann Hoare of the same, sp, by Banns 3-4-1809
George signed, Ann made her mark.
