Hi, Can anyone read the date and place of death on the left and the witness name and location on the right? I think the location might be Killeter in Longford. Witness might be his son, something Quinn.
Thanks

Thirteenth
October
add:
Hugh
Quinn?
skip that, looking in wrong place
add: John Quinn?
-
Toby (?) Quinn
Son
The places look the same - something with "ll" in the middle, but I can't make out the rest..!

Son looks like John to me. Present at death.

A Hugh Quinn death, aged 64, is recorded on UK FreeBMD for December Qtr 1915 with Registration being at Ashton under Lyne. Could the place be somewhere in that area?
-
Thirtieth October and John Quinn son.
Killeter does seem to fit for placename.

The death cert can be viewed on line at Irish Genealogy.
The registration district is Longford and there is a Killeter to the north west. Looking at other entries on the schedule the last two characters of the place name appear to be "er".

Thirtieth October.
The dot of the second "i" is next to the "5" in 15.

I suggested "Toby" because the first letter is exactly the same as the first letter in "Thirteenth" (or "Thirtieth").
But what would then be a "b" is the same as the "h" in thirteenth. And the last letter is missing the lower stroke of the "y". ???
So all in all, I expect you are all right with "John"! :)

There's a Hugh Quinn, widower, carpenter on the 1911 Census for Killeter, Longford. However, the age is 71 while the death cert. shows 65?

Yes it does look like 30th, not 13th :)

Agree - it's thirtieth. There's not enough letters for thirteenth.

added - son is John.

Not sure if this will work, but here is the link to the death cert:

Don't see any suitable townships so far.

Added - think it might be Killashee or Killeter
Agree with Sinann re the 1901 census. Maybe John wasn't sure of his father's age!

I appreciate everyone's assistance, it was most helpful. Thank you !
