I have a Charles McCarthy bn about 1829 Newcastle West to Denis McCarthy & Anastasia O'Brien. I have tried to read the details from the National Library of his baptism in October 1829 to see if he is Charles Denis but eyes fail me.
I've got the information that a Charles Denis McCarthy died 15.06.1865 Point de Galle India Ships surgeon HMS Vigilant son of late Denis McCarthy of Newcastle West. I am unable to find any other information about this but would like to establish if he is my Charles.
I would appreciate any help
Many thanks

Apart from priest and witnesses names it doesn't tell you any more that you already have.

thank you both for your responses. I'll try the armed forces forum next to see if that can shed any light.

Hello Sonia
Charles' father (Denis or Dionisio) also was a doctor in Newcastle. Denis was the brother of my 4x grandaunt Ellen O'Callaghan (nče McCarthy). Charles also had a sister named Anastasia McCarthy.
