Please could you help me find any living relatives.
I live in England and found out that my great grandfather (A merchant seamen from Yorkshire, England by the name of; George Henry Learoyd) moved to Australia just before the outbreak of World War One and married a ‘Elsa Gertrude Kuhn’
Elsa was a resident of Australia and I believe they had a child before my great grandfather joined the Australian army.
He died just before the end of the war in France.
If you know how I might be able to pick up the story after this point I would be most grateful as I’m sure there are family out there to complete my story.
Many thanks
Vincent

That’s amazing news! Thanks for your assistance. She lived to a ripe old age it seems.
How would I find out about their child (I’m guessing they did have a child?)
Where should I search?
Many thanks again

Hii
I am not sure what information you are still seeking, but the entire war service record for George Henry LEAROYD can be seen here.
There is a letter with information of the marriage prior to the Australian one and some "misunderstandings " about his estate.

I see this information was already pointed out to you previously.
Tip:-
To find your previous posts and threads, use the search option on the brown ribbon top of board.
Enter username (yourself) and the name you have been searching in "search for" In your case Learoyd.

Did you notice that Aubrey’s death notice (provided on previous thread) names the 3 children ? Aubrey was the husband of Isobel (or Joyce as she was known)
Unfortunately they are fairly common names but you could search for them on whitepages

Vincent this is the url to search for service files http://www.naa.gov.au/collection/search/index.aspx
The links on both threads have timed out for me. Search using his name and the years 1914-1918. Perhaps you have already read the file.
