Title: Adam Taylor (b) 1799/1800
Post by: Vabre on Thursday 08 February 18 23:06 GMT (UK)
I am looking for the baptism of Adam Taylor with father George. Adam was born 1799/1800 in Derbyshire and was trialled at the Derby Assizes in January and March 1818 receiving a punishment of seven years and transported to New South Wales on the ship Baring (2).

According to the Derby Mercury Newspaper published 29 Jan and the 26 March, 1818, he committed burglary at Ellen Waters house at Carsington.

Would anyone be able to lead me to his baptism records please ?

Many thanks....John...Sydney

Hello,

Im sorry i don't have any information for you on the baptism but my husband is a direct descendant from Adam.
Do you have any more information on him?

Kind regards,
Jess Taylor

Hi

Newapaper report also named a Joseph Taylor charged with same offence. Have you established any relationship between Adam & Joseph.?

Hi Spendlove,
Thank you for your help. I have seen the newspaper report and from some of the information it contained I followed through by looking at the baptismal records for Carsington without any luck. The burglary took place at around midnight but one would suggest by this he lived in the Carsington area.
Any clues.
Many thanks,
John
