Thanks Mathew and Cando,
I am looking for Sarah Ann Sipthorpe (1877) who married James Joseph Devine (1878, son of Michael & Catherine) in 1899 in Melbourne, they had a daughter Elsie in 1900 (I have found Elsie birth, marriage, death, etc). Sarah married using the name Mabel and then disappears until her death in 1965. In the death notice for her father (1932) she is listed as Sarah Guiatt (W.A.), she also places a memorial notice (1930) for her mothers death where she calls herself Sarah Guiatt (W.A.) and her own death certificate (died back in Victoria as a widow, Sarah Ann Devine) shows her dying aged 88, living 58 years in Victoria and 30 years in Western Australia. Daughter Elsie appears to have stayed in Victoria the whole time, JJ Devine disappears also (most of his family can be found moved to Sydney around about 1902). Sarah obviously living with an unknown Guiatt for a period of time in WA and then back in Victoria dies as Devine??? Both Sarah and JJ had some brushes with the law about the time of their marriage.
Any suggestions, help, hints, etc would be very welcome.
Cheers, Jo :)

Should have waited before jumping in :P
Have a look at the electoral rolls as there is a GUIATT family in WA. Look on TROVE but I can see no sign of a "Sarah". There are a few items about the GUIATT family though.

Electoral rolls -
1909 William Henry Guiatt, bootmaker and family (inc Mark, bootmaker) are at 35 Shelley st Richmond VIC
1916 William Henry Guiatt, herbalist and family (inc Mark, bootmaker) are at 343 Wellington st Perth WA
-
Matthew none of your information identifies the Mrs COMMER as Sarah....perhaps it is May.
May I suggest you post the links from TROVE and people can click on them or transcribe as most of us do.
-
Cando - all Trove links are posted already; electoral roll posts are for 44 Comer street and identifies a Sarah Ann Devine at same address as occupied by Guiatt
???

1932 GUIATT, William Henry, 44 Comer st, Como, Herbalist
1932 GUIATT, May, Comer st, Como, home duties
1943 DEVINE, Sarah Ann, 44 Comer st, Como, home duties
1943 electoral roll shows William Henry and May GUIATT are also at 44 Comer st
1949 May has disappeared and I can only see William Henry GUIATT and Sarah Ann DEVINE

Thanks Cando and Mathew,
I had tracked the Guiatts from Vic to WA and saw the electoral roll but was not sure that Sarah was with WHG, especially as she is calling herself Guiatt as early as 1930? A bit brazen really if May was still living there for another 13 years? And still no sign of James Joseph Devine.
I really appreciate your looking for me and if you spot anything else of interest please let me know.
Great job guys :).
Cheers Jo :)
