Hello,
Can anyone please tell me what the P.O. 4/64 means in the entry below? I get that the ship was Minnehaha but I don't think the sail took from 4/64-7/64. It was usually 3 weeks or so.
" McKinley Jane, Cashill, Carndonagh, P.O. 4/64. Minnehaha. 7/64.
Thank you.

Post Office. Possible transcription error of the date.

P.S. Looking at names on the Minnehaha list for that date are the same.

Thanks DoireM,
What role did the post office play? Did they take bookings/payment?
