I am trying to find a marriage record for a Joseph McGaffin and Isabella Fearon. Joseph left Ireland for Canada in 1906 and eventually arrived in the United States that same year. His daughter Isabella was born on 8th January 1907 in Newry under the surname Fearon and not McGaffin, his name was written on the birth certificate then it was crossed out. Three months later in April 1907 Isabella Snr is travelling to the United States from Londonderry under the surname McGaffin but there is no sign of the daughter. A son George W McGaffin was born on 23rd April 1909 in the United States so I think they might have got married between 1907-1909.
Any information would be greatly appreciated

I see that they are in Buffalo, New York in the 1910 US census and 1915 NY state census. The 1910 census says that they had been married for 4 years.
In that time frame, prior to 1914, the city of Buffalo kept vital records separately from the rest of New York state, so figuring out where the marriage occurred would be important.

Looks like mother Isabella Fearon was in Ireland on 13 Apr.1908 when child Isabella's birth was re-registered.

It is quite possible they never married. In 1910 she claims to be married 4 years 2 children 2 living (two young boys in household) - if she married Joseph on arrival in 1907 it would have been 3 years, why lie if they also didn't include young Isabella in the statistics?
I also don't think Isabella Fearon who went to the US as Isabella McGaffin was back to re-register the birth in 1908, or that she registered the birth in 1907. The informant in both cases was almost certainly her mother, the child's grandmother, who was also an Isabella (who died in 1909). That's why it says "present at the birth" for qualification of the informant, not "mother".

Yes, realised that after I posted, jorose, which makes it more than likely the child stayed in Ireland with Fearons.

he married first aged 20 (b. 1903, so circa 1923), she married first aged 16 (b. 1907, so also circa 1923)

- here she is arriving 1927, relative in Ireland aunt, Miss Maggie Feron, relative in US her husband, Robert Hughes.
It would be interesting to see how she is listed at marriage in Ireland!
