Hi I'm wondering what this says in German on the back of this photo.
Thanks.
Also there's a name on the side it's something "Grynbaum"...
-
Google translate gives the second line as:-
the memory never gives way
Will try the other lines
Third line:- as a rainbow of light

My son has been helping and we have come up with the below. Not sure if it is correct or makes sense! :o
Has the hawk also flown
The memory never gives way;
As a bright rainbow.
It stands on the clouds earlier. ??? ???

A poem from Ludwig Uhland: https://translate.google.de/translate?hl=en&sl=de&u=https://www.aphorismen.de/zitat/171257&prev=search
Ruth Grynmann or -baum, it's difficult to read.
Regards Peonie

Though time may have flown, memory never fades,
but stands against dark clouds like a bright rainbow.

Thanks for the help guys. Ruth is my great aunt but that doesn't really look like her and Elli who wrote that never lived in Bottrop (only Berlin) so I'm confused.

On the little bit of the photo which is visible, it looks as though she has some kind of medal around her neck.
Perhaps it might be worth putting the photo on this thread - someone might be able to identify the medal. It might help, you never know.

It's funny my mom thought that was a medal around her neck as well
