Hello,
I am researching George Donnelly born around June 1862 in Wellington Somerset. All I know is that his father was also called George and by 1881 he was living in Liverpool. Any help would be wonderful.
Many thanks

There is this entry in 1861

Stockland, Axminster, Devon
George Donnley 21 yrs Flax Dresser b Ormskirk
I think he is married
-
There is also this entry for 1861
1861 2764/65/1
Image House Lane, Burscough. (Ormskirk district)
Catherine Donnelly married 23 yrs b Ireland
William Donnelly 1 month b Burscough
She is daughter in law to William and Jane Donnelly - they have several children all born Ireland except for Eliza 1 yr.
William is a Flax Dresser so this looks promising.

It would be nice to have George juniors marriage details as they should clarify his fathers occupation ;) ;D
-
Hello Ladies,
Thank you so much for your replies ;D
George jnr’s marriage which is on the Liverpool catholic Marriages does not give his Fathers occupation, But one of the witnesses was a William Donnelly so could possibly be his brother.
It does not give his mother’s name either.
The 1881 census is correct, George Jnr stated he was from Somerset.
It would seem strange for George Snr to marry in Lancashire, have one Child in Somerset and then move back to Liverpool?
This is m Husbands family, I am used to doing my tree in Scotland which I find much easier! So I am floundering a bit with the English side.
Thank you so much for all your help, I will keep digging.

I have just been digging, apparently Wellington was a centre for Cloth Making in the 19th Century! So Flax Dresser would make sense.
