Title: help needed with sheffield Badge IDs

Hello,
I have found a long lost cousin with a navel connection, I managed to get hold of his service record can any one please tell me what theses badge abbreviations mean please.

Until someone comes along with a better answer I suspect "G1" is for General Service.
"R1" possibly Rating.
"D1" has been crossed out so doesn't apply.

It is the record of the award of Good Conduct badges where G is the badge award with date, D is when he was Deprived of it for some disciplinary reason, R when it was Restored.  At a guess he joined in 1927?  The time frames changed during the years he was serving http://www.pbenyon.plus.com/Cond_of_Serv/GCBs.html  (see also the regulations linked from that page - fiendishly complicated!
