I am trying to decipher Samuel Rendle (variants): word beginning with R..... in Crediton. The nearest I can get is Residing or Residence. Is that correct?

Or with the flourish at the end, possibly "Residenter", which means the same.

Could be, GR. It looked like just a flourish at the end of the line when I first looked but I can see an r now you mention it  :)
