Title: Date of Birth Significance
Post by: toby webb on Wednesday 28 February 18 21:36 GMT (UK)
I have come across an instance where a man signing on for the Navy gave his age as a year older than it really was. He was actually just over 18. Would this have been done to get him on a higher pay band? Thanks. Toby.

No, apart from the pay difference between a boy (under 18) and an Ordinary seaman which he became at 18, age played no part in pay scales on joining.
