This image is of my great granduncle Samuel with his second wife (Mary Ann). The youngest girl is their daughter Frances (who only died last year at 102 years of age). The 3 other girls are Mary Ann's daughters from her first marriage (Adelaide, Hephzibah & Mercy). Frances looks about 10 in the photo to me so that would date it to around 1925.
This has always been one of my favourite photos so it would great to have it coloured & cleaned by you talented people.

Is this the original Keith or has it previously been manipulated? It's only scanned at 72dpi and in greyscale rather than the preferred colour mode which picks up the full tonal range from the darkest to lightest tones. Whilst it's not bad, a 300dpi will bring sharper results and greater detail.

1 from me.

Ooh! don't get too technical with me Carol.
The grayscale was done by me as the original I got from my cousin in NZ had a tint - not sure about the dpi. Attached is the original - hope it helps.

I didn't have a problem with it.

Great colours Jim - wish my cousin (the little girl in the photo) was still alive to see this.
Many thanks

Gorgeous - I love all the different colours of the women's dresses contrasting with Samuel's grey suit.
Another masterpiece Carol

Be it 30 mins or 2 hours (with tea break) I really do appreciate your time & expertise.
I have thrown a lot of photos on here in a very short space of time & want to thank everyone for investing their time & effort in bringing to life a set of old B&W images that were filed away & often forgotten. Now I can't stop looking at them & sharing them with family. So a BIG thank you to you all. ;D ;D
P.S I do have a few more...... ;)
