Looks like So doesn't it? - no idea what it means.  (Short for Solomon??)

I think Rosanna Wright might be the witness.   :-\

When he swore the allegation for the licence, he signed simply as Jonas White.

** just bookmarking as logging out.

I am curious as to where Daug Rosanna of Jonas/Martha is in 1841 Census as her birth is reg Sept qtr 1840 Shardlow.
(Jonas is not home either)

I agree with Wiggy the marriage witness appears to be a Rosanna White. Sister/Mother of Jonas?

Thank you everyone for your interest.
Wiggy I think you are right about Roseanna Wright, she was either an aunt or a cousin of Martha.
stanmapstone I like the idea that what looks like So is really a mistake by Jonas.
Bookbox, may I ask where did you find the allegation? I haven't found that in my research.
trish1120,Id like to know too,she was definitely born before the census and I have never found her and I have done a lot of trawling through censuses.
Thank you again.
