Title: Greenacre
Post by: yekepa on Sunday 04 March 18 10:37 GMT (UK)
In WW1 J G Greenacre was reported as having lost his arm  in 1917 - he survived.
It was also in same report that his brother was KIA . No Christian name or any further details were given. Their home was Beck Row Suffolk

Bit of a shot in the dark, can anyone help, I have checked CWGC and Find a Grave. It is the brother who was KIA that I am looking for.
Thanks

Have you looked for J G Greenacre on 1911 or earlier census records?

The just 1 SWB & that's for a John Edward Greenacre discharged ( wounds ) Feb. 1918 so the dates about right for someone wounded in 1917.
Is it possible the G is an E.

Just to add,the JG Greenacre who lost an arm was in fact John Edward so the SWB roll is the right one.

Egg on my face !!!
I was a but premature in thinking Francis was the right man, on checking I have found that there were two Francis's and neither are the brother of J Greenacre.(as per original post)  His family lived in Beck Row.
So if anyone can help further I would be very grateful
Many many thanks

Not quite sure what the problem is as the information is correct.
Thomas Greenacre married Nelly Baker 1888.
Sons:
John Edward 1890.
Charles Pearman 1893.
Francis 1897.
Correct as per census info.
