Can anyone help me with details of Ann McLaughlin who drowned in the river Foyle (Derry) 17 Aug 1888. She was married and aged about 70.
I found a record of death in irishgenealogy.ie but have been unable to find anything else about her: circumstances, family etc.
Any help greatly appreciated

And who was informant?

Informant was the Coroner as is usual after an inquest-

The Londonderry Sentinel of August 18th 1888 carried a report of the inquest, headed 'Sad Fatality In Derry'. A son, James, who lived at 'Foyle-view', identified the body. She had been recently discharged from having spent 3 months in the infirmary due to 'weak turns'.
A death notice in same edition refers to Anne McLaughlin, wife of David McLaughlin and her remains being removed to her son's residence, 10 Foyle-view, for interment in th Cemetery on Saturday evening.
Possibly the David McLaughlin, aged 84, who died in the Asylum on 24th December 1890. Witness on certificate was someone from Asylum.

Possibly related... a James McLaughlin, son of David McLaughlin a carpenter, married a Charlotte Mercer in 1871, one of the witnesses was a Richard Mercer (whose 1873 marriage suggests may have been Charlotte's brother):
