Title: Lieutenant James Rankin, Royal Irish Rifles
Post by: rankpin95 on Saturday 17 March 18 01:23 GMT (UK)
The above man is my great-great-great Uncle and he was born in Garvagh, County Londonderry in 1871. He was a constable in the RIC from 1892 until 1907 serving across Ireland and In 1908 he became the Clerk of Petty Sessions for his hometown. I have a source stating he was a Lieutenant in the army during WW1 and acted as a recruiter in Belfast. He served in the 19th Battalion, Royal Irish Rifles in the city.

I would really appreciate any help that can be provided that would give me more information on his service in WW1. Any information at all would be most helpful.

Regards.
