Hello all,
I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction to any resources for the Kildare [Street] Society and London Hibernian Society - mostly historical context.
I was able to find a booklet from the London Hibernian Society published 1828 but I am interested in the historical context.
I found out from the Ordnance Survey Memories of 1830s that my ancestor who I knew was a schoolmaster, worked in (and perhaps lived in?) a school building in Co. Antrim which was funded by the Kildare Society and has material from the London Hibernian Society.
I have found from searches on this site that the LHS was setup to spread Christianity in Ireland. But I can't find out anything in terms of context other than that. A google search for Kildare Street Society brings up debates in parliament from Daniel O'Connell about this form of education - which makes it more intriguing - but I cannot find out anything about who they were etc.
It perhaps even seems to be that the London Hibernian Society, despite the name is based in Dublin? The Kildare Street Society search results seem to lead to a Dublin based social club for Anglo-Irish gentlemen. A search of PRONI records did not recover much information on either of these societies.
Would be grateful if anyone could point towards any more information.
Thank you.

A search of PRONI records did not recover much information on either of these societies.
I only took a brief look but there does seem to be a good bit in PRONI's e-catalogue-

Apologies for the delay, i didn't realise there was so many replies.
Thank you all. Since I sense a degree of question that I didn't actually (to quote) GOOGLE anything. I cannot find any of the results posted in my google search. Nor a wealth of results on PRONI.
Regardless thank you anyway.

Well, I also found lots online googling "London Hibernian Society" and PRONI's e-catalogue also yielded results so perhaps you are putting in too much information when you try to search?
