Title: Useful resource for UK chemist/druggist ancestors
Post by: CelticAnnie on Saturday 23 June 18 17:55 BST (UK)
For a cost of thirty GBP per enquiry (and it's going to a good cause!) the museum of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society will undertake research into your chemist/druggist ancestor and provide you with the following:

1.  Date of registration with the Society (this was made compulsory in 1868).
2.  Type of examination taken (if appropriate) and qualification obtained.
3.  All registered addresses and date they changed.
4.  Date of removal from register -- and reason (if known) eg death
5.  Obituaries and other articles in the pharmacy press.
6.  A 12-page information sheet about the history of the pharmaceutical profession in UK.

I have myself found these services very helpful.  (I have absolutely no personal connection with them, by the way  -- just lots of chemist ancestors!).  They can be contacted at museum@rpharms.com

Happy hunting.
