As I remember,in the early 1960's Henshaw's both for the blind and deaf,was a very large victorian building,that was on a block of land between Whitecity dog track and Trafford Bar,Chester Road on one side Talbot Road on the other,I just looked on google earth.Things have changed alot since I moved to Australia,not that it's my doing!!the changes that is.James C.

Hi,I do have William wed to Elizabeth,yes,but I have,1881 census, Elizabeth Harker aged 35,widowed living at 9A Ho 4 Court Wakefield St. Liverpool, with her daughter Esther who went on to marry John Alfred Peers ,5/8/1883 St. Ann's Richmond liverpool,I'm abit frustrated about this have just got a copy of William and Elizabeth's wed. cert. I was expecting to moving along ,but all I learned was Williams father's name and trade,having Elizabeth side of things,I will keep looking!James C.

Yes,I  found the wedding in St.Nicholas's,thanks to garstonite for putting me onto that site,but alot of my family,Eccles and Sherlock,married in Liverpool,but lived on the Wirral,I noticed postings on this site about the same thing.James C.

Hi,following my Harker of Liverpool posting,could I ask some gentle person out there if they could look up William Harker,born abt 1836,son of William Harker,a Tailor.William jrn;s adress on his marrage cert.dated 8/9/1867 was Portland St.I also found the marrage of a young lady whose father was William Harker,a tailor,dated 19/12/1853,address 4 Thomson st. Everton.I must say I don't know if this William Harker,a Tailor,is the same as the one above,if some kind person could,I would be very thankful.James C.

Hi,I'm looking for anything on Martha Leay,going off the 1881 census she was born in Upton,abt 1811,I have her marring Thomas Sherlock at St. Nicholas's,Liverpool on the 5th Aug.1832,Thomas died 1861,their child Margaret,only child I think,had Martha Ann Sherlock 25 Dec.1849,my great grandmother.Going back to Martha Leay,I can't find anymore about her can anyone help please. Thanks for that Garstonite,I couldn't find my William,but I did find,the marrage of Louisa Sarah Harker,on the 19/12/1853 at St.George's Everton,She was 19,the daughter of William Harker,a Tailor,her adress was 4 Thomson St. Everton.On the IGI I found her?? christerning,24/11 1833,along with her sister Amelia Rebecca Harker at Houghton le Spring,Durham,and the wedding of William Harker to Amelia Rebecca Good,16/7/1830,at Bishopwearmouth,Durham.Still no William jnr!I know this is not enough,but it may be why I can't find either William in Lancashire! Hello everyone,this is my first posting so please treat me gently.I have got some old,photos of my grandfather Arthur Peers and grandmother Dorthy Peers nee Eccles late of Hoylake,in with these was an evelope marked "Peers and Eccles",these people I don't know?Also there is a group Photo,of what looks Like a coach trip party almost for sure pre-WW2,which maybe of interest to someone doing Wirral families,my question is what do I do with them?
