Hi

Did you check out irishgenealogy.ie for Kerry baptisms etc?
Also where did you see the placename? If it was written somewhere on an old document it could be a spelling error etc as nothing springs to mind initially..but Kerry is a big place so it might be a smaller townland.?
There is a Laune river/townland in Killorglin Co Kerry? Could it be Luan?not Cuan therefore Laun/e?

Hi

My sister thought it was a picture of Alexander Dutton my grandfather but the badge saying Essex throws this out doesn't it as he served with the Welsh fusillers? He was encarcerated at Kut in  the battle and recieved medals,
My other grandfather was born circa 1905 so he would be to young but maybe its someone in his family..they were Wakefield?

Perhaps I will never know?

Thanks

Hi again folks....

Another problem! It turns out Agecroft Cemetery have no record of any burial for my nan.....I think we have the wrong cemetery. According to my sister she was buried with her husband who was allready deceased so my nan must have purchased the plot years before.
All my sister can remember is that it was a Lawn Cemetery in the Salford area, as she remembers getting upset at the graveside as there were dead flowers in the soil from another plot.

Can anyone think of any other places fitting this description...the only Lawn cemetery that comes up is Althrincham and i know thats not it?

Thanks for the advice

Graveyards and Gravestones / Re: Ashes Not Collected

Its lovely to know that the Crematorium still record everything down to the final detail. Its reasuring that we can still have some sort of memorial service or commemoration even at this late stage.

Mind you all my dad would have wanted was a Ceremonial Pie and a Pint in his memory ;D And a winning bet on the 3 oclock!

Never to late to do that anyway

Thanks for all the help once again
 :)
