I understand the information shown on death certificates did not change from 1837 until 1st April 1969.
See Schedule B at  http://www.rootschat.com/links/01f3/
These simple help sheets are very useful for what is shown on certificates

Excellent!  Just what I was looking for.

Many thanks Stan.

I know what info is contained on a modern certificate - my question was - is it the same for a pre-1850 one?

Hi,

What headings does a per-1850 death certificate have?

Will it have the same information as a modern death certificate?

Thanks.
Brian

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / COMPLETED - Foxy Lady needs defoxing!

This old photo has quite bad foxing which is beyond my photo expertise to overcome.

I'm aware that one can ruin a photo by attempting to remove the foxing by chemicals, so would really appreciate expert help to retouch this digital image such that I can get a decent print.

Thanks in advance.

Brian

I can't seem to find the actual date the 1911 census was taken in Nova Scotia.

(http://www.generations.on.ca/genealogy/canadian-census.htm covers the earlier censuses )

Help appreciated.
Thanks.

You can view the original documents and may find more information than transcribed records. Some of them are hard to read at times but contain more info than transcribed records.
There is an Aubrey S. Simmons, infant, death 1915, living at 26 Church St. Amherst. Clara Simmons that died in 1948 also lived on Church St so this is probably a son.

Thanks Valeriec - I agree that the infant may be her son - born the same year as the Margaret (or Marjorie) the subject of my search.  Possible twins?

Brian.

www.novascotiagenealogy.com shows the death of Alice Perfect in 1918 aged 52, a widow born in Manchester, and the marriage of Clara Collier in 1911 (one of the witnesses is Alice Perfect) to James Leonard Simmons (she may be the Clara Simmons who died in 1948).

Many thanks Jorose - that clears up the sisters!

I've ordered the marriage cert of the girl (married in UK) - which may clear up birth.

Thanks everyone.
