I was just going through some notes I have from previous conversations with an old aunt. She told me that one of the Tully's(My G/Grand fathers brother) actually ended up working in the White House!!

I haven't got around to check this one out, but I do know that one of my grand Fathers sisters went to Philadelphia at some time.

Hi tullylaw,
Thanks for getting in touch.

It is interesting to note that my G/Grand Father(John  Tully) in the 1901 census was living in house number 5, but the family was living in house number 16 in the 1911 census. I am not sure of the address today, but I do know(as I have visited the house, and it used to be the shop in Meelick ) that Tully descendants(My second cousins wife) still live their, and I also know that John Tully actually came from Kilmore(a neighbouring townland, approx 1/2 mile away) to marry and live in Meelick.

As for James Tully I have nothing on him!!
John Tully(G/Grand Father) had 2 sisters(Honoria, born 1838 & Mary, born 1846), and two brothers(Malachy, born 1841 & Micheal, born 1843). Isn't it strange the similarity in the names!!

I have found the East Galway Family History Society to be very good(costs a bit though), but from the information they give you,  you can get yourself well on the way to a good family tree.

Again, thanks for taking the time.  :) :)

With the publication of the 1911 census records, I have just found out that my grandmother has / had a sister we knew nothing about. She was born in about 1906 (aged 5 in the Co. Galway, Mountbellew census, ), I have spoke to my uncle(grandmothers son) but he never remembers anyone mention her.

Can anyone suggest where I would start to look for info on her.

Thanks.
