BAC3,

Do you have the Morgue Details regarding Henry?
It's available if interested.

John.

Hi BAC3,

It would appear that Henry Green sailed to Newcastle, New South Wales on 14 April 1873 as a passenger on the "Belle Isle" from Albany W.A.
On 1 May 1873 the "Belle Isle" lost her mainsail during a gale out to sea from Sydney and begun to sink. The ship sunk but luckily all lives were saved and all on board were taken to Newcastle.

John.

Hi BAC3,

Likely to be your man.
Henry Green & Charles Woodward (both names listed on the Lincelles and both on Tickets Of Leave) were convicted of Burglary in Perth, W.A and sentenced to 3 years jail.
On the same day they were both charged with having counterfeit coins in their possession and given another 3 years.
(The Perth Gazette 27 June 1862). Look on TROVE.

Regards,
John.

Many thanks eileenwilson,

Could I ask for assistance in the translation of the Emigration document attached.

In particular. the Commune, Profession and Depart.

On her arrival in Fremantle aboard the Cathay (24.3.1930), Marguerite Victoria Friederich gave her occupation as Governess.

She was born England (1905) and educated in Switzerland and I am trying to find more information on her whilst she was there. She could have been in Switzerland c1915-1930.

Thanking you,
John.

ShaunJ & hanes teulu, thank you for your contributions.
I am 'almost' certain there is no connection between the Craigie and Fimister family and thank you for the link to Booth Poverty Map.

Wivenhoe,
Not on the Susan Fimister (nee Heggie) side that I have come across, Susan is the blood relative.
Susan met James Fimister in Renfrewshire and they left soon after for Constantinaple.
He being Paisley born from Irish family with one brother.
They claim to have married in Constantinople in 1868 and returned prior to her death in 1872.
1 Russell Pl does seem to be full to the rafters in 1871 & 1872 and very accommodating to take in a person dying of TB along with her husband & child.
Still, it may have been a large enough home to rent out a room.
Thank you for the info, I shall certainly be searching further.
A perplexed John.

Thank you Wivenhoe,
1871 Census. 2 April 1871.
You have provided a little more background as the Fimister's may have been the next tenants to move in after the Craigie family moved out. (who knows!).
I know the Fimister's were living there 7 April 1872.
John.
