:) Thank you for this information.  I recently took out a subscription to 'Ancestry' website and they now have the 1861 Census.  Thanks once again.  Good luck with your research.

Yorkshire (East Riding & York) Lookup Requests / Re: 1891 Census - Wood family
« on: Sunday 03 April 05 15:23 BST (UK)  »
I've searched on 'Ancestry' website and have drawn an absolute blank.  I really believe they managed to get 'missed off'.  One of their sons was with relatives in Lund at the time of the 1891 Census and my grandfather (another son) was a 'Boarder' with another family in Lund (he was only 10 or 11 at the time!)

As I have the whole family for 1881 and Arthur and his mother's details for 1901 (Robert WOOD had died by 1901) I am not too bothered about their disappearance in 1891.

I really don't know where the parents were - maybe they weren't entered on the Census for some reason!  I will just have to give up on the 1891 Census for Robert & Ellen WOOD and their daughter Sarah.

Glamorganshire Lookup Requests / Garrett PARKER - Was he in Glamorgan in the 1861 Census
« on: Thursday 17 February 05 13:31 GMT (UK)  »
Hello everyone

I'm looking for Garrett PARKER and he may have been living in Dowlais or Gelligaer in 1861.  Can someone see if he was in either of these places (or anywhere else near them)?  I would be very pleased is I could find him.  Also, just on the offchance, does a Michael BURKE appear (born Ireland) with a son John who would have been about 3 years old at the time.  They ended up living in Monmouthshire but may have lived previously in Glamorgan.

Thanks in advance

Regards

Chrissie

Hello Kristin

I checked 'High Street, K-U-H' and didn't find them.  The quality of the records is not very good!  I'm afraid searching through the whole of K-U-H is a bit much for me to do.  Hope you find them.

Wiltshire / Re: Coroner's Report 1838 Melksham

I am sorry to say that Nathaniel PRIDE does not appear in the book, although there are entries for Melksham.  Not all Coroners' Bills have been found so that would explain why your relative is not in the book.

Sorry again.

Suggestion - have you looked at fiche of local newspapers to see if there is any mention of your relative's death?

Monmouthshire Lookup Requests / 1861 Census Lookup Required BURKE of Bedwelty
« on: Tuesday 15 February 05 14:16 GMT (UK)  »
Hello everyone  :)

Has anyone got the 1861 Census for the area of Bedwelty? I'm looking for Michael BURKE (who was born in Ireland) and his family.  His son John would have been about 3 years old at the time of the 1861 Census.  John was born in either Bargoed (1881 Census says) or Argoed (1901 Census says).  I would appreciate if someone could look up the family if they have a copy of the Census.

Also the family of Catherine PARKER who lived in or around the same area.  Her father's name was Garrett PARKER.  If Catherine appears she would have been very young.

Thank in advance.

Wiltshire Family History Society have produced a book entitled "Wiltshire County Coroners' Bills 1815 - 1858".  They probably have ones for different years, but this would be the one that might have the information you require.  I have a copy of the book and if you let me know what name you are looking for I can let you know if it appears in the book.

Look forward to hearing from you.
