Hi Diddy,
Thanks for the added information.  I did not have the date of James Duick of Burton' death nor Ann Basford's siblings.
Ann's parents might be George Basford and Ann ? who I found on a LDS film.  This couple was living in Wymeswold at the time of Ann's birth.
Wish i could have read your message when you were in the blibrary but, here, in Ottawa, it was morning and i was just getting up!

Thanks diddy.
Will check out the "hoap.co.uk" site.
Wish I was in UK to visit Leicester.
Found my first Dewick ancestor while visiting Gloucester...found my great-grandfather's will and that got me hooked.

Thanks diddy and mike.  Iit is the one born in 1776 that appears to be my ancestor.  Wymeswold seemed to be a farm and lace-making area, right?
Where would i have to look to search for James Duick of Burton born in 1737?  Would it be a lost cause, do you think?
Also, is there a way to find the descendents of these distant great....aunts and uncles or is that really too difficult to do??

thanks Diddy.  The Dewick of Wymeswold: James Duick of Burton born 1737 married Ann Basford may 18, 1762 and had 8 children.  I would love to find his parents, if possible.

Where is the best place to look up these families in Wymeswold around 1700-1850: Duick, DEWICK, Basford, Dickman, Fletcher and Frankham? Thanks
