Yes indeed Wred, he had a nice list of churches and was well liked by the Queen Mother

Many thanks

That is okay - thank you for trying anyway.   If I didn't live so far away,  I would have gone there to take the photo myself

Your help was appreciated though   :)

Jane

Hello Ellen

Thank you for your reply.   The name is Reverend Alex Robertson.  His wife's name is Kathleen.   He died in August 1986

Many thanks

Jane

Hello

I wondered if anyone could suggest how I could obtain either a photo or inscription, of someone buried in Canisbay Cemetery?

Thank you very much

Canada Lookup Request / My Late Grandfather
« on: Sunday 26 July 15 19:44 BST (UK)  »
My late grandfather was a merchant seaman whilst living in Scotland.  When his first wife died in 1943, we are told, he then carried on his career, became a Captain in the |Merchant Navy, married a Canadian school teacher, and had another family.  Now the problems start....  We have no idea as to anything definite of his whereabouts after 1943

JOHN HUTCHISON BROWN
BORN 1905
MARRIED 1926
1ST WIFE DIED 1943
ONE CHILD - ELIZABETH
MERCHANT SEAMAN

The above all relates to Dundee Scotland

After that, we know he went to Halifax, Nova Scotia where he remarried a school teacher.   Sadly, I have no other information as to his Canadian wife's name, nor the details of the children they had

Thank you in advance of any help

Hi    Thank you for taking the time to reply.   Any help is much appreciated.  I tried various organisations in Canada to get help  but not one, replied  :(

Anyway, I am sorry but I have no idea of whom he worked for as a merchant seaman.    I should say I do know his parents names, dates of birth, marriage and death, but of course, that may not be any help

Eileen - the record you refer to can I ask where you found it please?
