So as you do over the past 10 years or so I have got carried away. I researched back my direct line as far as possible and then all lines coming forward. I now have several trees and a 170 page write up. I have been recently updating all my research but I need a numbering or indexing systems to make the write up easier to follow.

Any advice on indexing or even the layout of my write up would be appreciated.

Currently my write up starts from my oldest ancestor and works down each line. E.g. The write up goes from ancestor 1 and goes through his children and their children and several generations on until the are no more. It then goes back 60 pages later to ancestor 1's brother and repeats down this line. Is there a better way?

It's the McCallum bit which doesn't fit.

It's not a family name on the Halliday side or with Ellen and her parents and siblings. There is no marriage record of Ellen marrying someone called McCallum.

I'd seen the 'F' but hadn't checked further but Fredrick makes sense because this was also a middle name of his grandfather.

I don't particularly want to order the birth certificate hence reaching out on here.

If anyone has access to the Birkenhead parish records i'm looking for the parents of

Alexander F M Thorn and Beatrice May McCallum Thorn

Alexander's birth was registered in the 2nd quarter of 1904 in Birkenhead
Beatrice was born on the 15th May 1906 in Higher Tranmere, Birkenhead

The 1911 census gives their parents as Thomas Halliday and Ellen Cecilia Thorn. Thomas and Ellen married in 1909. Ellen was a spinster so i'm trying to figure out if they had the children out of wedlock or maybe they are niece and nephew of Ellen, or something else!

I guess the appendicitis caused her to be bed bound leading to the other symptoms. She died aged 82.

Yep, i had Bryden which is confirmed in other records. Just wanted to make sure i wasn't seeing what i wanted to see!

One more question though...

What was os uteri short for?

Hi all

I've been out of the game for a while and trying to get my eye in on some old handwritting. I think i'm pretty happy with the first column being John Halliday, farmer deceased and Agnes Halliday but what is Agnes's maiden name?

Also, what does column 2 say? I can only get Bronchitis?

The record is for John Halliday aged 18 in Birkenhead, Cheshire.

I've had a look at the few pages before and after and found a Philip with the same capital P. I think this was confusing me most! I'm now in agreement.
