Going forward with this same line of thinking.... I have just had a DNA study completed which came up with a perfect match with a James Corrigan here in the states... while talking further with them it appears that they have some similarities in name associated families... It appears that they came here from either Tyrone or Fermanagh in the early 1800's the major name that keeps coming up is McCormick also the DNA study makes a major connection with the James Watt family... also during the same time frame. ??? James Watt of lightbulb fame.

Any help would be wonderful!

Thank You for the quick response!  Lots to look into.

It seems fair to say that the 2 boys that we know of for sure...John and Patrick must have been living somewhere in their early childhood and during their teenage years before coming to the US... The records here show no mention of their mother or father... Could have died in the famine..??

Is there any record of a Campbell Mill during that time... Is their a town where all of the above names were mentioned..Corrigan, Gorman, Burns, Campbell... seem very well associated!

Any Catholic Churches?  All info we currently have points to Clonavaddy, Is this still a town? or what is the area called now?

Ok... We have 2 borthers John and Patrick who were born between 1845 and 1850... We have been trying to connect them to a Family of Corrigan's in County Tyrone...All we know!  They came to Philadelphia in the 1860 and worked as Coopers, They seem very well connected to The Campbell family both in Ireland and in Philadelphia... They also seem well connected to the Gorman family also in both locals.... It seems that Patrick was born in 1847, all of his US recornds say Parents unknown... The could have had 3 other brothers named Thomas, Michael and Bernard... The story is that Patrick and John stayed together here in Philly, Thomas and Bernard went to other parts of the US or Canada and Michael travelled back and forth to Ireland... Many folks were orphaned in those days and that many have been their fate... but they must have had family in Ireland somewhere. County Tyrone is what we have been told for years... The have had alot of contact with the other families both in Country Tyrone and in Philadelphia... They seem to have been from families of weavers.
The Campbell Mills in both Ireland and Phildelphia seem to be connected

Absoultely Great Info!.... Great phone books in Ireland. Wish they did the same in the states!

I appears that you are the moderator for all of the towns I'm searching in.

Primary names are:  CORRIGAN / COLGAN

Secondary names are: COURTNEY / FINN

We know the Corrigan's and the Courtney's are from Tyrone.
We know the Finn's and the Colgan's are from Armagh.

They are all Catholic. Is their a Catholic Parish that encompassed both areas along the border of each county that would allow them to have known each other in the early 1800'

Does St Dympian's fit this discription?

Thank You
