Hi Swebby
Thanks for all the info. :D One quick question - was William listed as a Skinner or a Thompson? or both maybe?

Thank you for looking all this up! I'm so impressed with the amount of info you guys have access to.
Swebby - where does the info on William eyles at night school come from?

This is brilliant.  ;D Thank you muchly. Has anything come up that suggests who Samuel Eyles' parents were? Or if they were even from Burwash?

Sussex Lookup Requests / Re: BURWASH LOOK UP PLEASE
« on: Friday 25 November 11 15:24 GMT (UK)  »
I've just remembered another one that I'd love some info on - the Thompson-Skinner family of Burwash/Etchingham area. I've found Benjamin Thompson-Skinner's grave in the churchyard in Burwash, but I'd love to know anything else about him and his family. I think he was born in Burwash in about 1826.

I have a photo that I think is him and his wife Harriet (no idea what her maiden name was), but I'd love some confirmations if there's any distant relatives out there!

They're both listed in various census returns with the surnames Thompson in one census and Skinner in another. This makes it extra confusing to track them! ???

Sussex Lookup Requests / BURWASH PRE CENSUS LOOK UP - Eyles and Thompson(-Skinner)
« on: Friday 25 November 11 15:19 GMT (UK)  »
Hello Everyone!

I'm looking for more info on the Eyles family of Burwash. I have Samuel Eyles b. 1836ish, and his parents Samuel and Harriott Eyles, born 1810-1815 and 1085-1810 respectively.

I've lost them on my family tree trail so any suggestions would be much appreciated! I have their census returns for 1841 but nowt before then.

:D
