Thanks Isabel,

James Williamson was a shipyard driller in Sunderland before he left for Ingersoll/Canada 1923, just not sure yet when he actually lived in Toronto 1148 Dufferin St

BTW: Rainey still lived at 1148 Duff in 1922

Hello!

This is quite amazing! Have been looking for 1148 Dufferin St, but my relatives lived there in the 40s/50s, maybe even earlier (James Foster WILLIAMSON, died 1954) He was from Sunderland, England, maybe there was a connection to the Whites? Maybe his wife's family GOOD rings a bell (from Norfolk, England)?

Regards,
Chris

Perthshire / Minister David Duncan

Hello,

I posted a short bio of Minister David Duncan on Wikipedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Duncan_%28minister%29

Also added two references

The name David Duncan runs through my whole family as first and middle name.
I am pretty sure the Minister David David was very close to my family in Sunderland.
The next minister of the Union Chapel in Sunderland was James Muir, and he married into our family.

I was able to trace back David Duncan's parents and brothers & sisters in Scotland.

Would be great if someone knows where I could find more information about him and maybe find out how close the connection to my family was!

Hello copperbeech,

Thankyou for asking your friend!
I think there are 3 letters, have to check when I get home.

regarding the first letter:

we thought my gr-grandfather had at least two brothers, but the letter says "only brother".
It could be possible that his other brother had died.
And I believe Janis worked for the Latvian railway, not submarine.

could you please ask your friend if possible to double-check the translation?

Best regards,
chris
